It's time for my monthly music favorites. It's always quite hard deciding what should make the list cause I listen to a lot of music, and picking a few as my absolute faves is tricky.
- But starting off with the man in the picture, Kanye West. His album Yeezus was released earlier this year and caused quite a stir in the musical world. Some (mainly the public) thought his album was crap, others (music critics for the most) praised it for its stripped back sound and minimalist approach. This theme carries on into the packaging itself which has no artwork, reflecting what's inside the album. My favorite songs on the album are, Black Skinhead, New Slaves and Bound 2. Disclaimer: if you click on the link to Bound 2 it'll take you to the explicit version on the video, so it could be NSFW. I really liked this album, to me it's one of those albums where you wouldn't skip any songs. And as arrogant as Kanye is, he does produce and create some really good songs, gotta hand it to him.
- This next favorite will probably come as no surprise, but Flume's deluxe album. You need this album, if you haven't already got it. You can get it off iTunes or else buy a hard copy from literally any place that sells CD's. If you couldn't tell already by the amount of times, I've mentioned this album on my blog, i'm in love with it. It's great. It's brilliant. Buy it.
- Settle by UK music duo Disclosure needs to make my favorites list, as I have re-discovered it this month and i'm lovin it. I'm using the album as a workout playlist, because i'm the worst at making playlists, and I find a complete album does the trick just fine. I love all the songs, and the whole album just flows together really well. I will link one of their songs down below.
